18th International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades

In memory of Alekos Fassianos
The International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades is held for the 18th year in the capital of Cyclades,
magnificent Hermoupolis of Syros, presenting a series of 5 unique concerts from August 6 to 13, 2022,
under the artistic direction of violinist Yannos Margaziotis.
After its last two events that were held in open spaces due to the pandemic, the Festival returns to its
“home”, the emblematic Apollo Theater of Hermoupolis, presenting an opera gala with exceptional
protagonist of Greek National Opera Cellia Costea and internationally acclaimed Greek baritone Dimitri
Platanias, two chamber music concerts with great musicians from Greece and abroad as well as a vocal
recital with the worldwide renowned opera diva Myrtò Papatanasiu, who will also give a vocal Masterclass
at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Hermoupolis, the participants of which will perform in a
separate recital on the stage of the Apollo Theater.
This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of the iconic painter Alekos Fassianos, who designed the
Festiva’s logo.
The International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades was inaugurated in 2004 and has been organized since
then by the Classical Music Network civil non-profit partnership, under the organizational supervision of its
partners Fotis Karagiannopoulos, Kostas Fotopoulos, Giorgos Foufopoulos and Yannos Margaziotis.
