DESCRIPTION:“Syros Gathering”: Three Cultural Associations Unite on Stage at the Apollo Theatre \nThree places\, one heart\, one gathering of tradition — from Naousa and Thessaloniki to Syros. \nThe Apollo Theatre will host a special music and dance event on Monday\, 26 October 2026\, at 19:30\, with free admission for the public. \nThe Traditional Workshop of Syros\, Aroma Paradosis (“Fragrance of Tradition”)\, is organising the “Syros Gathering\,” inviting everyone to enjoy a performance dedicated to the richness of Greek traditional dance and the bonds it creates between people. Three cultural associations from Syros\, Naousa and Melissochori\, Thessaloniki\, will come together on the same stage\, united by their shared love of traditional dance. \nDifferent experiences\, dance journeys and local traditions will come together in a celebration of culture\, friendship and mutual understanding. \nThe participating associations are: \nThe Traditional Workshop of Syros\, “Aroma Paradosis.” \nThe Environmental and Cultural Association “Arapitsa\,” from Naousa. \nThe Melissochori Youth Educational and Cultural Association\, from Thessaloniki. \nThe dancers from the three associations will present a musical and dance performance that aims to convey to the audience the vitality\, emotion and sense of community embodied in tradition. On October 31 and November 1\, the island will host two days dedicated to musical storytelling\, where imagination meets sound and creativity becomes a common language. \nThis year\, the children of Syros take center stage\, participating in an original creative production and discovering the art of the musical fairytale through workshops and collaborations with artists. \nThe festival also includes the presentation of another musical fairytale\, one of the genre’s classics\, which will be performed in both Greek and English. The performance offers audiences the opportunity to experience an iconic work of the genre through a modern and accessible approach. \nWe invite you to join us for a two-day celebration filled with stories\, music\, and culture at Syros’ beloved family festival.

SUMMARY:I\, a Slave
DESCRIPTION:The theatrical play “I\, a Slave”\, by Vangelis Chatzigiannidis\, gives a voice to a woman who remains in the shadows of the wars of every age. At the side of Queen Hecuba\, she recounts\, with bitter humour and disarming honesty\, the collapse of a world to which war delivers the final blow. \nAs she unfolds the story of her mistress\, she also tells her own: a life devoted to obedience and silence. Thus\, behind her voice\, gather all the “slave women” of History who were silenced when they were told to obey. At the same time\, through the central character of the protagonist\, many other figures from the myth come to life: Odysseus\, Polyxena\, Achilles and Polymestor\, sometimes perpetrators and sometimes victims\, inextricably bound together in the terrifying wheel of fate and circumstance. \nIn this way\, the Maid’s monologue walks a fine line throughout the play between parody and tragicomedy.
