Dimitris Mystakidis, during his solo performance \u201cAmerika\u201d, revives the forgotten technique of \u201ctsibiti\u201d guitar and uniquely arranges songs that were only recorded and performed live in America by Greek immigrant musicians almost a century ago.<\/p>\n
Songs about getting apart from our beloved ones, the long and painful journey to America, survival and adaptation struggle, marginalization, illegalities, loss and the dream of return, create unique movie scenes during the performance. The touching rhythm which is doric but mastery, spells woes, recalls memories and rises emotions.<\/p>\n
