Songs of the South – Guided by Nikos Kavvadias
Babis Velissarios (vocals) and Manolis Androulidakis (guitar) invite us on a unique musical journey inspired by the poetry of Nikos Kavvadias, the poet of distant voyages and the blue seas.
From “The Southern Cross” and “Lines of the Horizons” by Thanos Mikroutsikos, to Mariza Koch’s “Fata Morgana” and Yiannis Spanos’ “Ideal and Unworthy Lover”, the poetic universe of Nikos Kavvadias unfolds.
Then, through “Songs of the South,” the artists bring us closer to major works by leading Greek composers, all sharing a common thread: the sea, travel, and the seafaring wanderer—where authentic life meets art. Works by Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Manos Loïzos, Stavros Xarchakos, and other distinguished creators will be performed.
Start time: 20:30
