The Apollon Municipal Theater is a symbol of Hermoupolis, inextricably linked to its history. The city, founded by refugees, was a social, economic and architectural miracle of the 19th century with remarkable cultural movement and creative refulgence.

Τhe Apollon Theater hosts major cultural events, operas and theater plays performed by local, national and international companies.

 For several years, highly acclaimed Festivals amongst which, the International Festival of the Aegean, the International Classical Music Festival of Cyclades, the Animasyros International Animation Festival & Forum, the Syros Jazz Festival, the Tango Festival, the Choir Festival, the Guitar Festival, the Rebetiko Festival etc., bring a dynamic presence to the Cultural program of Syros and offer a high quality spectacle for opera, music, and dance lovers.

On the third floor of the Apollon Theater there is a small museum exhibition
where one may find a rich collection of programs, posters, books, manuscripts, books, photographs, designs, and personal items of artists that crossed path with the Apollon Theater.
