The Apollon Theater is illuminated by sounds, memories, and children’s voices as it hosts the concluding event of the celebrations marking 200 years since the founding of Ermoupolis. The Municipality of Syros–Ermoupolis closes the anniversary cycle with a concert dedicated to the city’s continuity, memory, and future.

The Philharmonic Orchestra joins the children’s choirs from the island’s primary schools in a moving collaboration, where the past is symbolically handed over to the new generation. Songs from the 19th century are revived through the pure voices of the children, bringing to the present the spirit of the era that gave birth to Ermoupolis.

With this musical celebration, the 200-year anniversary concludes not as a mere retrospective, but as a promise: that the story of the city continues through those who grow up surrounded by its sounds, values, and memories.
