Light of Cappadocia
The Association of Asia Minor Greeks of Ermoupoli, Syros, in collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Syros, presents on Monday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Apollo Theater the documentary “Light of Cappadocia”, with the participation of the Choir of the School of Byzantine & Traditional Music “Neophytos Vamvas”.
The documentary follows a fascinating journey in the footsteps of the two most recent Saints of the Orthodox Church, Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian and Saint Paisios the Athonite.
Traveling from Farasa of Cappadocia to Mount Athos, two monks relive their divine heritage, revealing the endurance of faith through prayer, trials, and miracles. The documentary combines archival material, testimonies of believers and monks, as well as impressive cinematic footage from Farasa (Cappadocia) and Greece, bringing to light narratives and information presented for the first time.
Through this multi-layered narrative and through the eyes of its protagonists, the lives of the two most recent Saints of Orthodoxy unfold before us, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a journey of faith, miracles, and reflection.
A production of the Hellenic Foundation of Historical Studies (IDISME), in collaboration with the Holy Hesychasterion of Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian.
