A romantic tale from ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ ‘dressed’ in the enchanting music of ‘Schehrazade’ by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. A rare 1924 black and white film (which is only 100 years old…), with a live on stage accompaniment by violin and piano. The cunning yet sensitive Thief of Baghdad messes with Gods and Demons alike, lured by an unexpected love right onto the screen of the Apollo Theater. At the same time, the stage is ‘flooded’ with the melodies of the great composer of the 19th century. Let’s dream…
