Music group De Santo
The Cycladic music group De Santo is coming to Syros for the first time, for one exclusive performance at the historic Apollo Theatre on Tuesday, September 8!
De Santo was formed in Santorini, where the members live and create, with the aim of reintroducing beloved as well as lesser-known songs through their own creative and unpredictable musical approach. Their sound is characterized by the coexistence of different musical worlds and influences, brought together through the group’s unique orchestral identity.
With piano, guitar, cello, bass, and vocals as their main elements, De Santo create live musical narratives where tradition meets jazz, alternative, folk, and contemporary aesthetics. A characteristic example is their musical fusion of the traditional Greek song “Mori Kontoula Lemonia” with “Fever” by Peggy Lee.
On Tuesday, September 8, De Santo will perform as a full band, creating an even richer sound with the addition of violinist Dimitris Kazanis. They will present a musical journey featuring beloved songs, original arrangements, and rare musical “mashups.”
