100 Buildings – 100 Stories

In Hermoupolis, 100 buildings will be given a QR code and few details about the building. The purpose is for the visitors to scan it with their mobile smartphones and learn a story …

Citizens and Friends of Hermoupolis, Institutions, Students, Cultural Organizations: Everyone can tell, draw, or write a story from the past or the present about the city, the life, the customs and traditions, rituals or even events.

With the support of the European Heritage Days, the Council of Europe and the implementation by the Syros Institute, this program aims to strengthen the relationship between the citizens and their city and to promote the history of Hermoupolis to its visitors.

Ten stories have already been formed and their QR codes will be presented to their owners or authors in a celebratory event at the Apollon Theater. Another ninety (90) buildings and stories are waiting to be adopted by institutions, organizations, groups of individuals, schools and individually by residents or friends of Ermoupolis. Join our event and draw inspiration from our programme “100 Buildings – 100 Stories” to record your own story.

The event will include a short music performance by the Children-Youth Choir of the Cyclades Orchestra and an Exhibition of Award-winning Photos by the European Commission and Photos of NSRF actions of the South Aegean Region.
